Crewe patients are seen by Miss Rakhee Nayar at Circle Cheshire Clinic in Wincham, near Northwich, around thirty minutes north through the Cheshire countryside. She is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Consultant Mohs Surgeon, one of fewer than ten women in the UK dual-trained in both disciplines.
South Cheshire has no private Mohs surgeon of its own. For a facial skin cancer, Northwich is the nearest place to have the cancer removed and the area reconstructed by a single consultant in one visit.
Mohs surgery for Crewe patients
Mohs micrographic surgery removes the cancer in thin layers, checking each under the microscope while you wait, so nothing is left behind and nothing extra is taken. It gives the highest cure rates for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, and leaves the smallest possible defect to repair.
Getting to the clinic from Crewe
Circle Cheshire Clinic is at The Courtyard, Hall Lane, Wincham, Northwich CW9 6DG. From Crewe the usual route is the A530 to Middlewich and then the A533 into Northwich, picking up the A559 towards Lostock Gralam. Around thirty minutes, all on A-roads.

Mole, cyst and skin lesion removal

Common questions
I have been referred to Leighton Hospital. Should I still look at private surgery? That is your decision, and seeking a private opinion does not affect your NHS care. Some patients want to be seen sooner; others want the reconstruction handled by the same surgeon who removes the cancer.
Do I need a referral? Not necessarily for a private consultation, though insurers usually require one. Bring any biopsy results or letters you already have.
What happens if more than one operation is needed? Some larger reconstructions, such as a forehead flap, are deliberately staged over a few weeks. If that applies to you it will be explained in full before you decide anything.
