What Happens On the Day
Each step is explained before it happens, so you know what the day involves and what it will cost.
Years of surgical experience
A first appointment is a consultation, not surgery. The lesion is examined and your history taken.
If the diagnosis is confirmed, you discuss how it would be removed and repaired, and what it will cost.
On the surgery day, the area is numbed with local anaesthetic and the cancer removed in thin layers.
Each layer is processed and checked under the microscope while you wait. If cancer remains at an edge, another thin layer is taken from that spot only.
Once the margins are clear, the wound is repaired, usually in the same visit, and follow-up is arranged.
